Café Corazón is proudly celebrating 15 years in the heart of Riverwest. Our family-owned and operated restaurant, was established in 2009, as a mom-and-pop taqueria. We embarked on our journey with a hybrid menu sourced locally and designed to satisfy both meat and plant-based diners. We have since expanded our menu and grown to three locations with Bay View opening in 2015 and Brown Deer in 2022. We also provide catering for private and corporate events.
One of Milw's Most Haunted Places, 2024
A uniquely shaped building that used to be a train service station, this restaurant features several reports of hauntings, from an apparition of an elderly woman hiding in one of the restrooms to a mischievous boy ghost who pranks the kitchen staff. The building was once home to Auggie's Triangle Tap, which was a hang out spot for The Outlaws motorcycle club. Namesake August Notbohm shot and killed a would-be robber inside the bar.

Wendy and George Mireles had been living in California's Bay Area for 12 years when the housing market crashed in 2008 and he was laid off from the construction industry. They decided to move back to Wisconsin to be near family and raise their two children. Choose to believe in fate or not, but when she was reached for this article, it was the seventh birthday of the Café Corazon's Bay View location.
